Updated at: 1605 PST, Wednesday, February 11, 2009

PESHAWAR: Member of the NWFP Assembly Alamzeb Khan of ANP has been killed while eight others including his personal assistant were critically injured when a remote control bomb exploded close to his vehicle on Dalazak Road here Wednesday, City Police Chief said.

“Apparently the ANP MPA was the target of the blast”, said CCPO Siffat Ghayur. It was a high intensity blast that totally smashed vehicle of the MPA while boundary walls of two houses completely collapsed besides breaking the windowpanes of scores of the houses in the nearby vicinity, he added.

The blast ripped through a very congested locality, which is always jam-packed with the people and motorists.

Alamzeb Khan was rushed to the nearby Lady Reading Hospital where he could not succumb to injuries. Emergency has been declared in the city hospitals. The police rushed to the site and cordoned off the road. (The News)

ANP strongly opposed Talibanization and extremism in Pakistan as well as in the whole region, and the other hand the JI,JUI,PTI,PML-N are supporting talibaniztion and ongoing militancy.
