Swat: Two more schools torched - update 21 January 2009

Swat is in mess. The Taliban are free to behead innocent citizens, burn schools and impose a narrow-minded version of sharia, under the protection of the Pakistan Army...

Two more schools torched in Swat

SWAT: Two more schools have were set ablaze by militants in Swat on Wednesday morning.

Sources said militants torched a boys school in Mangal Tan area of Charbagh and another in Sher Balim area of Matta.

According to officials’ sources, number of schools torched in Swat has now reached to 174. Overall more than 300 school remained closed in the area putting the future of thousands of students and teachers into jeopardy.

On the other hand, security forces continued pounding militants’ positions in upper parts of teshil Matta. However, no loss of life was reported. (The News)
