interesting. I think he would be the perfect enablers for the Islamists in the ISI. He reminds me a bit of Iran's first prime minister after the revolution, Mehdi Bazargaan.

I am just amazed by the amount of contempt for Imran Khan by the members here. I am neither a journalist, nor a member of any political party, but after reading thru these hate-bloggers, anti-Imran propagenda, I am noe have a firm believe that Imran Khan is ONLY true hope of Pakistan. He is the conscience of the nation. He speaks with conviction and has a true feelings for our country, the rest of these so-called politicians, that includes militray generals are nothing but "valtures and vampires".
To criticize IK, who reflects geneuine feelings of the masses is completely unfair and self-seving.

Tariq, You are indeed entitled to your views on Mr. Khan. Feel free to write an article in Imran Khan's defense. We will be happy to post your views on this blog. Cheers.

Rabia, Interesting point. In what respect do you compare IK with Mehdi Bazargaan? Cheers

Abdul,
I guess I might be giving too much credit to IK because Bazargan was at least a thinker. What I meant was that Bazargan was a "soft" islamist who allied himself with Khomeini and deliberately kept himself blind to the contradictions within the islamism that he preached (I mean, as far as I can tell he wanted an islamic government in Iran, but he wasn't prepared to deal with the reality of it) as well as to what Khomeini's aims were.

I just find it really scary that all these different groups (IK, lawyer's movement, leftists etc) are all coming under the agenda of the right-wing.

Thank you Abdul, I appreciate your kindness. Most of the comments are unsabtantiated and unfounded. IK belongs to the handful of our leader have not been corrupted, although he had his oppertunity to join hands with Pakistan worst-dictator, Pervaiz Musharf. Yes, IK welcomed the coup, ONLy when the tyrant "fooled" the nation rid the shame-democracy and bring a genuine democracy. But dictators are all the same, all they want is "POWER" and "ABSOLUTE POWER" only. I am sick and tirted of the nonsence argument of right-wing taking control, while the dictator was in-bed with MMA during his entire illegal rule.

I have deep sympathies for Imran because this confused man has not yet come out from cricket ground.Well he was successful on cricket ground and developing cancer hospital for which I really appreciate him but he was mistaken to think himself as a born conqueror.Dear Imran ,leave politics and do something constructive.Your close relationship with Mullas donot justify your liberal approach and your past.Take a break from politics you are too confused to choose your cards

Are we going to penalizes IK of being honest, straight-forward with principled stands on issues? And he should called a confused and unsuccessfull politician? Not fair at all. It is a laughable moment. Another commentator warmly suggests that IK should leave poltics and "do something constructive", I wonder what does she meant by "do something constructive" like open anothe cancer hospito? or a college in a remote country area? How many other politicians have we known to have been involved in such public service in Pakistan, can we name only ONE? The problem lies with our elite class, who have rapped our country and its people vvirtually and figuretively speaking. It's the 2% vultures class, whom are having nightmares to see Chief Justice Iftikhar back in his office and politicians like IK who can truly bring justice to the country.

Tariq, no one can penalize Imran Khan but he himself. I really hope that he will organize his party well, purge his own party/alliances, and manage to lead Pakistan through democratic means. Cheers

Shumail, You are right. Imran is one of the finest philanthropists in Pakistan's history. I really hope that he liberates himself from the shadows of Mullahs and their cronies.

I agree that IL needs a comprehensive organization on ground level, but one must understand the difficulties of creating a new cadre of leadership from the ground level with limited funds and resources. How many politicians do we know that are clean and can sustain financial burdon without the support of the party? We have a society, thanks to our "corrupt generals, politicians, and civil beaurocrates, which is "absolute criminal" and to expect that IK can have a well organized and effective political party with available "co-called" politicians is just unfair. yes, its taking bit longer but than what is the alternative? Should he start seeking help from these vultures, who have been rapping this pure land of ours for the 60 years? should he start recruting thoese corrupt Nazims off the ground level that has been available to us? The answer is NO. IK has been a role model for any future leadership, who wants to serve the people of Pakistan "without" serving themselves.

The argument that IK needs to break away from the Mullahs, is the most rediculous one. Tell me any politician in Pakistan who has not been in alliance with the Mullahs? Late BB's most admired politician was maulana diesel (now real estate agent), and she made him the chair of kashmire affirs. Nawaz Sharif... no need for any explanation. Dictator Musharaf rulled for 8 years while in-bed with MMA (I hope that folks remember it,,its not that distance memory, unless we have selective memory). Asif Zardari has once again used his late wife's old ally, Maulana Diesel as partner...So I think calling IK to be so close to the Mullahs is bit unfair and does not hold any ground....

Ever since I have posted my thoughts in defence of IK, it seems that you folks have been out of argument. Indeed a pity..

Tariq, Some of your points are valid. Why don't you write an article in Imran Khan's support. We will publish this on this blog. Cheers

Abdul, I don't think an article is necessary to defend IK. I responded on your website primarily after reading an entire one-sided affiar against the man. This blogspot has quoted almost every negative, false, and gerogetory accusations that are var from reality nad has no merit.
Thus, I decided to respond and that about it. I will do it again if there is a need.
