In his op-ed piece in Daily Express on 11 October 2008, Abbas Ather notes that Pakistan is currently faced with the most ruthless enemies it has ever faced since its birth in 1947. Our current enemy is an extension of those forces which declared Quaid-e-Azam as Kafir-e-Azam sixty years ago. Ather prays to Allah to save Pakistan from Osamas, Mullah Omars and Baitullah Mehsuds (and indeed their supporters in ISI, politics and media).
