No doubt that the track Record of our Intelligence Agencies [dont bother to challenge because I will give references] is not very good to look at but USA doesn’t want Iran Gas Pipeline. Remember, India betrayed Iran under US Pressure, though India is energy starved and needs Power/Electricity to run its Industry but succumb to the US Pressure. Peace in Baluchistan would pave the way for smooth laying of Iranian Gas Pipeline which would have to be passed through Baluchistan therefore Peaceful Baluchistn is not in the US Interest till they achieve what they came here for. That’s what is brewing in Baluchistan. USA want to freeze Irani Nukes at any cost to put Saudis and Israelis both at ease. Operation was launched Negroponte [he was also involved in such activities in Latin America in 80s]
ISPR was never so swift in condemning the incident which is evident in the newspapers e.g. Dawn’s frontpage. If we want to understand the Terrorist Threat then we would have to go through the History of Latin America when Cold War being fought there between USA and USSR and present Terror incident are just that.

Preparing the Battlefield The Bush Administration steps up its secret moves against Iran.by Seymour M. Hersh July 7, 2008

The Pentagon consultant told me, “We’ve had wonderful results in the Horn of Africa with the use of surrogates and false flags—basic counterintelligence and counter-insurgency tactics. And we’re beginning to tie them in knots in Afghanistan. But the White House is going to kill the program if they use it to go after Iran. It’s one thing to engage in selective strikes and assassinations in Waziristan and another in Iran. The White House believes that one size fits all, but the legal issues surrounding extrajudicial killings in Waziristan are less of a problem because Al Qaeda and the Taliban cross the border into Afghanistan and back again, often with U.S. and NATO forces in hot pursuit. The situation is not nearly as clear in the Iranian case. All the considerations—judicial, strategic, and political—are different in Iran.”
He added, “There is huge opposition inside the intelligence community to the idea of waging a covert war inside Iran, and using Baluchis and Ahwazis as surrogates. The leaders of our Special Operations community all have remarkable physical courage, but they are less likely to voice their opposition to policy. Iran is not Waziristan.”

Seymour Hersh: US Funding Al-Qaeda Linked Sunni Groups
http://www.handsoffiran.org/news/2007/abc-jundullah.htm
A Pakistani tribal militant group responsible for a series of deadly guerrilla raids inside Iran has been secretly encouraged and advised by American officials since 2005, U.S. and Pakistani intelligence sources tell ABC News. The group, called Jundullah, is made up of members of the Baluchi tribe and operates out of the Baluchistan province in Pakistan, just across the border from Iran.
Well! Aamir Mughal is entitled to his perception that India 'betrayed' Iran under US pressure but he is completely off the tangent. For one, this is a purely commercial deal and the concept of betrayal hardly ever enters the picture. When the economics didn’t work out (cost of gas plus cost of secured supply), India chose to play down the issue. Besides, at that time it also had the nuclear deal hanging in balance which was far more important for securing its energy requirements of the future. So India did what was prudent and normal. Besides, Iran’s reneging on the price terms of an earlier LNG deal and unilaterally jacking up the price which caused the deal to collapse was a another factor for India to play cool this time. And frankly, the Iranian gas is not going anywhere and there is every chance India will be sounded out once again by the Iranians.
