Gen (R) Hamid Gul has categorically stated that he and his family were willing to appear before any independent investigator, and I for one, will accept his word. So what is the fuss about? The man has the right to defend himself.
Benazir was assassinated because she was too close to the US and not because she was a Democrat. Democrat she was not, demagogue she was. Corrupt certainly she was. After all, it was not general Hamid Gul but the UN had stated that Benazir had bribed Saddam Hussain in the oil for food scandal.
please remember, that everything that glitters is not gold.
It is not wise to accuse Gen (R) Hamid Gul for Ms. Benazir's murder as former President Musharaf was accused by Ms. Benazir for her murder just two days berfore her assassination in a suicide attack. Further, Gen Hamid Gul would not have benefited from Benazir's murder and he was long ago retired from army and we all know that a retired army officer has no powers for executing such attacks
instead of wasting time on this FIR, the PPP government must restore CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry and request him to investigate the political abuse of ISI by morons Hameed Gul and Aslam Beg.
