LAHORE: Muttehadda Ulema Council (MUC) has said in its unanimous decree (fatwa) that suicide attacks in Pakistan are haram and najaaiz.
According to sources, a meeting of the Muttehadda Ulema Council was held in Lahore which was attended by the ulema from Jamaat Ahl-e-Sunnat, Ahl-e-Tashee, Ahl-e-Hadees, and the Devbandi and Barelvi schools of thought.
An unanimous decree was announced in the meeting that suicide attacks in Pakistan are haram and najaaiz.
The leader of the MUC, Sarfaraz Naeemi said on this occasion that it seems that the government (read ISI) is backing the suicide attackers for sabotaging the people’s movement.
He demanded to abolish the system of sood (interest) in Pakistan.
He further said that a delegation of the ulema would bring out the facts by visiting Bajaur and Swat. (The News)
